بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
بِسۡمِ اللهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ
وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا ١
وَالشَّمۡسِ وَضُحٰٮهَا ۙ ١
91:1 I swear by the sun and his broad light,
وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا ٢
وَالۡقَمَرِ اِذَا تَلٰٮهَا ۙ ٢
91:2 and by the moon when she follows him,
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا ٣
وَالنَّهَارِ اِذَا جَلّٰٮهَا ۙ ٣
91:3 and by the day when it shows his brightness,
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا ٤
وَالَّيۡلِ اِذَا يَغۡشٰٮهَا ۙ ٤
91:4 and by the night when it envelops him,
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا ٥
وَالسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنٰٮهَا ۙ ٥
91:5 and by the sky, and the One who built it,
وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا ٦
وَالۡاَرۡضِ وَمَا طَحٰٮهَا ۙ ٦
91:6 and by the earth, and the One who spread it,
وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا ٧
وَنَفۡسٍ وَّمَا سَوّٰٮهَا ۙ ٧
91:7 and by the soul, and the One who made it well,
فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا ٨
فَاَلۡهَمَهَا فُجُوۡرَهَا وَتَقۡوٰٮهَا ۙ ٨
91:8 then inspired it with its (instincts of) evil and piety,
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا ٩
قَدۡ اَفۡلَحَ مَنۡ زَكّٰٮهَا ۙ ٩
91:9 success is really attained by him who purifies it,
وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا ١٠
وَقَدۡ خَابَ مَنۡ دَسّٰٮهَا ؕ ١٠
91:10 and failure is really suffered by him who pollutes it.
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ ١١
كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُوۡدُ بِطَغۡوٰٮهَآ ۙ ١١
91:11 (The People of) Thamūd denied the truth because of their transgression,
إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا ١٢
اِذِ انۡۢبَعَثَ اَشۡقٰٮهَا ۙ ١٢
91:12 when rose up the one who was most wretched of them.
فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَٰهَا ١٣
فَقَالَ لَهُمۡ رَسُوۡلُ اللّٰهِ نَاقَةَ اللّٰهِ وَسُقۡيٰهَا ؕ ١٣
91:13 So, the Messenger of Allah said to them, “Be careful of Allah’s she-camel and her right to drink.”
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا ١٤
فَكَذَّبُوۡهُ فَعَقَرُوۡهَا ۙفَدَمۡدَمَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ بِذَنۡۢبِهِمۡ فَسَوّٰٮهَا ۙ ١٤
91:14 But they rejected him and killed her, so their Lord sent eradicating torment upon them because of their sin, and made it equal for all.
وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَٰهَا ١٥
وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقۡبٰهَا ١٥
91:15 And He has no fear of its consequence.
