79. An-Naazi'aat

وَٱلنَّٰزِعَٰتِ غَرْقًا ۝١

وَالنّٰزِعٰتِ غَرۡقًا ۙ‏ ۝١

79:1 I swear by those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the infidels) with extreme force,

وَٱلنَّٰشِطَٰتِ نَشْطًا ۝٢

وَّالنّٰشِطٰتِ نَشۡطًا ۙ‏ ۝٢

79:2 and by those (angels) who untie the knot (of the souls of the believers) smoothly,

وَٱلسَّٰبِحَٰتِ سَبْحًا ۝٣

وَّالسّٰبِحٰتِ سَبۡحًا ۙ‏ ۝٣

79:3 and by those who float (in the atmosphere) swiftly,

فَٱلسَّٰبِقَٰتِ سَبْقًا ۝٤

فَالسّٰبِقٰتِ سَبۡقًا ۙ‏ ۝٤

79:4 then proceed forward quickly,

فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًا ۝٥

فَالۡمُدَبِّرٰتِ اَمۡرًا​ ۘ‏ ۝٥

79:5 then manage (to do) everything (they are ordered to do,)

يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ ۝٦

يَوۡمَ تَرۡجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُ ۙ‏ ۝٦

79:6 (you will be resurrected) on the Day when the shocking event (i.e. the first blowing of the trumpet) will shock (everything),

تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ ۝٧

تَتۡبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ ؕ‏ ۝٧

79:7 followed by the next one (i.e. the second blowing of the trumpet.)

قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ ۝٨

قُلُوۡبٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ وَّاجِفَةٌ ۙ‏ ۝٨

79:8 On that day, hearts (of people) will be throbbing,

أَبْصَٰرُهَا خَٰشِعَةٌ ۝٩

اَبۡصَارُهَا خَاشِعَةٌ​ ۘ‏ ۝٩

79:9 with their eyes downcast.

يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ ۝١٠

يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ ءَاِنَّا لَمَرۡدُوۡدُوۡنَ فِى الۡحَـافِرَةِ ؕ‏ ۝١٠

79:10 They (the infidels) say, “Are we going to be brought back to our former state (of Life)?

أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَٰمًا نَّخِرَةً ۝١١

ءَاِذَا كُنَّا عِظَامًا نَّخِرَةً ؕ‏ ۝١١

79:11 Is it when we are turned into decayed bones?”

قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ ۝١٢

قَالُوۡا تِلۡكَ اِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ​ ۘ‏ ۝١٢

79:12 They say, “If so, that will be a harmful homecoming.”

فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ ۝١٣

فَاِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجۡرَةٌ وَّاحِدَةٌ ۙ‏ ۝١٣

79:13 In fact, it will be only a single harsh voice,

فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ ۝١٤

فَاِذَا هُمۡ بِالسَّاهِرَةِ ؕ‏ ۝١٤

79:14 and in no time they will be (brought) into the plain (of Hashr).

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ ۝١٥

هَلۡ اَتٰٮكَ حَدِيۡثُ مُوۡسٰى​ۘ‏ ۝١٥

79:15 Has there come to you the narrative about Mūsā?

إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى ۝١٦

اِذۡ نَادٰٮهُ رَبُّهٗ بِالۡوَادِ الۡمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى​ۚ‏ ۝١٦

79:16 (Recall) when his Lord called to him in the blessed valley of Tuwā:

ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ ۝١٧

اِذۡهَبۡ اِلٰى فِرۡعَوۡنَ اِنَّهٗ طَغٰى ۖ‏ ۝١٧

79:17 “Go to Fir‘aun (Pharaoh). Indeed, he has crossed all bounds.

فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ ۝١٨

فَقُلۡ هَلۡ لَّكَ اِلٰٓى اَنۡ تَزَكّٰى ۙ‏ ۝١٨

79:18 And say (to him,) ‘Would you like to purify yourself,

وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ ۝١٩

وَاَهۡدِيَكَ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ فَتَخۡشٰى​ۚ‏ ۝١٩

79:19 and that I should guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)?’”

فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْـَٔايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ ۝٢٠

فَاَرٰٮهُ الۡاٰيَةَ الۡكُبۡرٰى ۖ‏ ۝٢٠

79:20 So, he (Mūsā) showed him the biggest sign.

فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ ۝٢١

فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصٰى ۖ‏ ۝٢١

79:21 But he rejected and disobeyed,

ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ ۝٢٢

ثُمَّ اَدۡبَرَ يَسۡعٰىۖ‏ ۝٢٢

79:22 then he turned back, and tried hard (to refute the Messenger),

فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ ۝٢٣

فَحَشَرَ فَنَادٰىۖ‏ ۝٢٣

79:23 then he gathered (his people) and shouted

فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ ۝٢٤

فَقَالَ اَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الۡاَعۡلٰى ۖ‏ ۝٢٤

79:24 and said, “I am your supreme lord.”

فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ ۝٢٥

فَاَخَذَهُ اللّٰهُ نَڪَالَ الۡاٰخِرَةِ وَالۡاُوۡلٰى ؕ‏ ۝٢٥

79:25 So, Allah seized him for an exemplary punishment in the Hereafter and the present world.

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰٓ ۝٢٦

اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰلِكَ لَعِبۡرَةً لِّمَنۡ يَّخۡشٰىؕ‏ ۝٢٦

79:26 Indeed, there is a lesson for him who fears (Allah).

ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ بَنَىٰهَا ۝٢٧

ءَاَنۡتُمۡ اَشَدُّ خَلۡقًا اَمِ السَّمَآءُ​ ؕ بَنٰٮهَا‏ ۝٢٧

79:27 Is your creation more difficult or that of the sky? He has built it,

رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا ۝٢٨

رَفَعَ سَمۡكَهَا فَسَوَّٮهَا ۙ‏ ۝٢٨

79:28 He has raised its height, then made it proper,

وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا ۝٢٩

وَ اَغۡطَشَ لَيۡلَهَا وَاَخۡرَجَ ضُحٰٮهَا‏ ۝٢٩

79:29 and darkened its night, and brought forth its daylight,

وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ ۝٣٠

وَالۡاَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ ذٰلِكَ دَحٰٮهَا ؕ‏ ۝٣٠

79:30 and, after that, He spread out the earth.

أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا ۝٣١

اَخۡرَجَ مِنۡهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرۡعٰٮهَا‏ ۝٣١

79:31 From it, He brought out its water and its meadows,

وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا ۝٣٢

وَالۡجِبَالَ اَرۡسٰٮهَا ۙ‏ ۝٣٢

79:32 and firmly fixed the mountains,

مَتَٰعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَٰمِكُمْ ۝٣٣

مَتَاعًا لَّـكُمۡ وَلِاَنۡعَامِكُمۡؕ‏ ۝٣٣

79:33 (all this) as a benefit to you and your cattle.

فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ ۝٣٤

فَاِذَا جَآءَتِ الطَّآمَّةُ الۡكُبۡرٰى ۖ‏ ۝٣٤

79:34 So when the Greatest Havoc will take place

يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ ۝٣٥

يَوۡمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الۡاِنۡسَانُ مَا سَعٰىۙ‏ ۝٣٥

79:35 on the day when man will recall what he did,

وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ ۝٣٦

وَبُرِّزَتِ الۡجَحِيۡمُ لِمَنۡ يَّرٰى‏ ۝٣٦

79:36 and the Hell will be exposed for all who see,

فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ ۝٣٧

فَاَمَّا مَنۡ طَغٰىۙ‏ ۝٣٧

79:37 then for the one who had rebelled,

وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۝٣٨

وَاٰثَرَ الۡحَيٰوةَ الدُّنۡيَا ۙ‏ ۝٣٨

79:38 and preferred the worldly life (to the Hereafter),

فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ ۝٣٩

فَاِنَّ الۡجَحِيۡمَ هِىَ الۡمَاۡوٰىؕ‏ ۝٣٩

79:39 the Hell will be the abode,

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ ۝٤٠

وَاَمَّا مَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهٖ وَ نَهَى النَّفۡسَ عَنِ الۡهَوٰىۙ‏ ۝٤٠

79:40 whereas for the one who feared to stand before his Lord, and restrained his self from the (evil) desire,

فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ ۝٤١

فَاِنَّ الۡجَـنَّةَ هِىَ الۡمَاۡوٰىؕ‏ ۝٤١

79:41 the Paradise will be the abode.

يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا ۝٤٢

يَسۡـــَٔلُوۡنَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ اَيَّانَ مُرۡسٰٮهَا ؕ‏ ۝٤٢

79:42 They ask you (O Prophet,) about the Hour (the Day of Judgment) as to when it will take place.

فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ ۝٤٣

فِيۡمَ اَنۡتَ مِنۡ ذِكۡرٰٮهَاؕ‏ ۝٤٣

79:43 In which capacity are you to tell this?

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ ۝٤٤

اِلٰى رَبِّكَ مُنۡتَهٰٮهَاؕ‏ ۝٤٤

79:44 With your Lord is the final word about it.

إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا ۝٤٥

اِنَّمَاۤ اَنۡتَ مُنۡذِرُ مَنۡ يَّخۡشٰٮهَاؕ‏ ۝٤٥

79:45 You are only a warner for anyone who fears it.

كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا ۝٤٦

كَاَنَّهُمۡ يَوۡمَ يَرَوۡنَهَا لَمۡ يَلۡبَثُوۡۤا اِلَّا عَشِيَّةً اَوۡ ضُحٰٮهَا‏  ۝٤٦

79:46 The day they will see it, it will seem to them as if they did not live (in the world) but only for one afternoon or for the morning thereof.
