Honesty and keeping promises

وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا۟ مَالَ ٱلْيَتِيمِ إِلَّا بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ حَتَّىٰ يَبْلُغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ ۚ وَأَوْفُوا۟ بِٱلْعَهْدِ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلْعَهْدَ كَانَ مَسْـُٔولًا ۝٣٤

17:34 Do not go near the property of an orphan, except in a manner that is good, until he comes to his maturity. And fulfill the covenant. Surely, the covenant shall be asked about (on the Day of Reckoning).

اور پاس نہ جاؤ یتیم کے مال کے مگر جس طرح کہ بہتر ہو جب تک کہ وہ پہنچے اپنی جوانی کو اور پورا کرو عہد کو بیشک عہد کی پوچھ ہو گی 17:34

17:34 Come not near the wealth of the orphan save with that which is better till he come to strength; and keep the covenant. Lo! of the covenant it will be asked.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَكُونُوا۟ مَعَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ ۝١١٩

9:119 O you who believe, fear Allah, and be in the company of the truthful.

اے ایمان والو ڈرتے رہو اللہ سے اور رہو ساتھ سچوں کے 9:119

9:119 O ye who believe! Be careful of your duty to Allah, and be with the truthful.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَقُولُوا۟ قَوْلًا سَدِيدًا ۝٧٠

33:70 O you who believe, fear Allah, and speak in straightforward words.

اے ایمان والو ڈرتے رہو اللہ سے اور کہو بات سیدھی 33:70

33:70 O ye who believe! Guard your duty to Allah, and speak words straight to the point;

يُصْلِحْ لَكُمْ أَعْمَٰلَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ ۗ وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَقَدْ فَازَ فَوْزًا عَظِيمًا ۝٧١

33:71 (If you do so,) Allah will correct your deeds for your benefit, and forgive your sins for you. Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger achieves a great success.

کہ سنوار دے تمہارے واسطے تمہارے کام اور بخشدے تم کو تمہارے گناہ اور جو کوئی کہنے پر چلا اللہ کے اور اس کے رسول کے اس نے پائی بڑی مراد 33:71

33:71 He will adjust your works for you and will forgive you your sins. Whosoever obeyeth Allah and His messenger, he verily hath gained a signal victory.

وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا۟ ٱلْحَقَّ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا۟ ٱلْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ۝٤٢

2:42 and do not confound truth with falsehood, and do not hide the truth when you know (it).

اور مت لاؤ صحیح میں غلط اور مت چھپاؤ سچ کو جان بوجھ کر 2:42

2:42 Confound not truth with falsehood, nor knowingly conceal the truth.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لِمَ تَقُولُونَ مَا لَا تَفْعَلُونَ ۝٢

61:2 O you who believe, why do you say what you do not do?

اے ایمان والو کیوں کہتے ہو منہ سے جو نہیں کرتے 61:2

61:2 O ye who believe! Why say ye that which ye do not?

كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَن تَقُولُوا۟ مَا لَا تَفْعَلُونَ ۝٣

61:3 It is severely hateful in Allah’s sight that you say what you do not do.

بڑی بیزاری کی بات ہے اللہ کے یہاں کہ کہو وہ چیز جو نہ کرو 61:3

61:3 It is most hateful in the sight of Allah that ye say that which ye do not.

وَيْلٌ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ ۝١

83:1 Woe to the curtailers

خرابی ہے گھٹانے والوں کی 83:1

83:1 Woe unto the defrauders:

ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكْتَالُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ ۝٢

83:2 who, when they measure something to receive from people, take it in full,

وہ لوگ کہ جب ماپ کر لیں لوگوں سے تو پورا بھر لیں 83:2

83:2 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full,

وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ ۝٣

83:3 and when they measure or weigh something to give it to them, give less than due.

اور جب ماپ کر دیں اُنکو یا تول کر تو گھٹا کر دیں 83:3

83:3 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss.
