77. Al-Mursalaat

وَٱلْمُرْسَلَٰتِ عُرْفًا ۝١

وَالۡمُرۡسَلٰتِ عُرۡفًا ۙ‏ ۝١

77:1 (I swear) by those (winds) that are sent one after the other,

فَٱلْعَٰصِفَٰتِ عَصْفًا ۝٢

فَالۡعٰصِفٰتِ عَصۡفًا ۙ‏ ۝٢

77:2 and by those that blow violently,

وَٱلنَّٰشِرَٰتِ نَشْرًا ۝٣

وَّالنّٰشِرٰتِ نَشۡرًا ۙ‏ ۝٣

77:3 and by those that spread (clouds) all over,

فَٱلْفَٰرِقَٰتِ فَرْقًا ۝٤

فَالۡفٰرِقٰتِ فَرۡقًا ۙ‏ ۝٤

77:4 and by those (angels) who differentiate (between right and wrong) distinctly,

فَٱلْمُلْقِيَٰتِ ذِكْرًا ۝٥

فَالۡمُلۡقِيٰتِ ذِكۡرًا ۙ‏ ۝٥

77:5 then bring down the advice,

عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا ۝٦

عُذۡرًا اَوۡ نُذۡرًا ۙ‏ ۝٦

77:6 leaving no excuse (for the disbelievers) or giving warnings,

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌ ۝٧

اِنَّمَا تُوۡعَدُوۡنَ لَوَاقِعٌ ؕ‏ ۝٧

77:7 that which you are promised is sure to happen.

فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ ۝٨

فَاِذَا النُّجُوۡمُ طُمِسَتۡۙ‏ ۝٨

77:8 So, when the stars will be extinguished,

وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتْ ۝٩

وَ اِذَا السَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتۡۙ‏ ۝٩

77:9 and when the sky will be split,

وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ ۝١٠

وَاِذَا الۡجِبَالُ نُسِفَتۡۙ‏ ۝١٠

77:10 and when the mountains will be blown away as dust,

وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ ۝١١

وَاِذَا الرُّسُلُ اُقِّتَتۡؕ‏ ۝١١

77:11 and when the messengers will be assembled at the appointed time, (then all matters will be decided.)

لِأَىِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ ۝١٢

لِاَىِّ يَوۡمٍ اُجِّلَتۡؕ‏ ۝١٢

77:12 (Do you know) for which day has all this been delayed?

لِيَوْمِ ٱلْفَصْلِ ۝١٣

لِيَوۡمِ الۡفَصۡلِ​ۚ‏ ۝١٣

77:13 For the Day of Decision!

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ۝١٤

وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا يَوۡمُ الۡفَصۡلِؕ‏ ۝١٤

77:14 And what may let you know what the Day of Decision is?

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ۝١٥

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ۝١٥

77:15 Woe that Day to the deniers!

أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ۝١٦

اَلَمۡ نُهۡلِكِ الۡاَوَّلِيۡنَؕ‏ ۝١٦

77:16 Did We not destroy the earlier people?

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ ۝١٧

ثُمَّ نُتۡبِعُهُمُ الۡاٰخِرِيۡنَ‏ ۝١٧

77:17 Then We will cause the later ones to follow them.

كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ۝١٨

كَذٰلِكَ نَفۡعَلُ بِالۡمُجۡرِمِيۡنَ‏ ۝١٨

77:18 Thus We deal with the guilty people.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ۝١٩

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ۝١٩

77:19 Woe that Day to the deniers!

أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍ مَّهِينٍ ۝٢٠

اَلَمۡ نَخۡلُقۡكُّمۡ مِّنۡ مَّآءٍ مَّهِيۡنٍۙ‏ ۝٢٠

77:20 Did We not create you from a worthless fluid?

فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ فِى قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ ۝٢١

فَجَعَلۡنٰهُ فِىۡ قَرَارٍ مَّكِيۡنٍۙ‏ ۝٢١

77:21 Then We put it in a firm place of rest

إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ ۝٢٢

اِلٰى قَدَرٍ مَّعۡلُوۡمٍۙ‏ ۝٢٢

77:22 for a known period.

فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْقَٰدِرُونَ ۝٢٣

فَقَدَرۡنَا ۖ فَنِعۡمَ الۡقٰدِرُوۡنَ‏ ۝٢٣

77:23 Thus We did (all this with perfect) measure; so We are the best to measure.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ۝٢٤

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ۝٢٤

77:24 Woe that Day to the deniers!

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا ۝٢٥

اَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ الۡاَرۡضَ كِفَاتًا ۙ‏ ۝٢٥

77:25 Did We not make the earth a container that collects

أَحْيَآءً وَأَمْوَٰتًا ۝٢٦

اَحۡيَآءً وَّاَمۡوَاتًا ۙ‏ ۝٢٦

77:26 the living and the dead?

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ شَٰمِخَٰتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَٰكُم مَّآءً فُرَاتًا ۝٢٧

وَّجَعَلۡنَا فِيۡهَا رَوَاسِىَ شٰمِخٰتٍ وَّ اَسۡقَيۡنٰكُمۡ مَّآءً فُرَاتًا ؕ‏ ۝٢٧

77:27 And We placed towering mountains therein, and provided you with sweet water to drink.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ۝٢٨

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ۝٢٨

77:28 Woe that Day to the deniers!

ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ۝٢٩

اِنْطَلِقُوۡۤا اِلٰى مَا كُنۡتُمۡ بِهٖ تُكَذِّبُوۡنَ​ۚ‏ ۝٢٩

77:29 (It will be said to them on that day,) “Push on to what you used to deny.

ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّ ذِى ثَلَٰثِ شُعَبٍ ۝٣٠

اِنْطَلِقُوۡۤا اِلٰى ظِلٍّ ذِىۡ ثَلٰثِ شُعَبٍۙ‏ ۝٣٠

77:30 Push on to a canopy (of Hell’s smoke) having three branches,

لَّا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ ۝٣١

لَّا ظَلِيۡلٍ وَّلَا يُغۡنِىۡ مِنَ اللَّهَبِؕ‏ ۝٣١

77:31 that neither has a comfortable shade, nor is it of any use against the scorching heat.

إِنَّهَا تَرْمِى بِشَرَرٍ كَٱلْقَصْرِ ۝٣٢

اِنَّهَا تَرۡمِىۡ بِشَرَرٍ كَالۡقَصۡرِ​ۚ‏ ۝٣٢

77:32 It emits sparks (as huge) as castles,

كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَٰلَتٌ صُفْرٌ ۝٣٣

كَاَنَّهٗ جِمٰلَتٌ صُفۡرٌ ؕ‏ ۝٣٣

77:33 as if they were yellowish camels.”

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ۝٣٤

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ۝٣٤

77:34 Woe that Day to the deniers!

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ ۝٣٥

هٰذَا يَوۡمُ لَا يَنۡطِقُوۡنَۙ‏ ۝٣٥

77:35 This is the day when they will not speak,

وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ ۝٣٦

وَلَا يُؤۡذَنُ لَهُمۡ فَيَـعۡتَذِرُوۡنَ‏ ۝٣٦

77:36 nor will they be allowed to offer excuses.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ۝٣٧

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ۝٣٧

77:37 Woe that Day to the deniers!

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَٰكُمْ وَٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ۝٣٨

هٰذَا يَوۡمُ الۡفَصۡلِ​ۚ جَمَعۡنٰكُمۡ وَالۡاَوَّلِيۡنَ‏ ۝٣٨

77:38 (It will be said to them,) “This is the Day of Decision. We have assembled you and the earlier ones together.

فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ ۝٣٩

فَاِنۡ كَانَ لَـكُمۡ كَيۡدٌ فَكِيۡدُوۡنِ‏ ۝٣٩

77:39 Now, if you have a trick, use the trick against Me.”

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ۝٤٠

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ۝٤٠

77:40 Woe that Day to the deniers!

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى ظِلَٰلٍ وَعُيُونٍ ۝٤١

اِنَّ الۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ فِىۡ ظِلٰلٍ وَّعُيُوۡنٍۙ‏ ۝٤١

77:41 Of course, the God-fearing will be amid shades and streams,

وَفَوَٰكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ ۝٤٢

وَّفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشۡتَهُوۡنَؕ‏ ۝٤٢

77:42 and fruits of their desire.

كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ۝٤٣

كُلُوۡا وَاشۡرَبُوۡا هَنِيْٓئًا ۢ بِمَا كُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ‏ ۝٤٣

77:43 It will be said to them, “Eat and drink with pleasure because of what you used to do.”

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ۝٤٤

اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجۡزِى الۡمُحۡسِنِيۡنَ‏ ۝٤٤

77:44 This is how We reward those who do good deeds.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ۝٤٥

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ۝٤٥

77:45 Woe that Day to the deniers!

كُلُوا۟ وَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ ۝٤٦

كُلُوۡا وَتَمَتَّعُوۡا قَلِيۡلًا اِنَّكُمۡ مُّجۡرِمُوۡنَ‏ ۝٤٦

77:46 “(O disbelievers,) eat and drink for a while! You are guilty ones.”

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ۝٤٧

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ۝٤٧

77:47 Woe that Day to the deniers!

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرْكَعُوا۟ لَا يَرْكَعُونَ ۝٤٨

وَاِذَا قِيۡلَ لَهُمُ ارۡكَعُوۡا لَا يَرۡكَعُوۡنَ‏ ۝٤٨

77:48 And when it is said to them, “Bow down (i.e. submit to Allah’s commands)”, they do not bow down.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ۝٤٩

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ۝٤٩

77:49 Woe that Day to the deniers!

فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ ۝٥٠

فَبِاَىِّ حَدِيۡثٍۢ بَعۡدَهٗ يُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ‏ ۝٥٠

77:50 Now, in which discourse, after this, will they believe?
